X Games Aspen is underway, and despite all the buzz about new additions like gambling and AI judging, one thing, unsurprisingly, remains unchanged: Knuckle Huck is one of the most entertaining freeskiing competitions around.
Both women’s and men’s fields threw down in the jam-style event last night, stacking progressive tricks that pushed the envelope just a bit further.
Here’s a look at the results and highlights.
X Games Women’s Knuckle Huck Results
GOLD: Rell Hardwood
For Rell Harwood, her X Games gold was well-deserved. She initially came out of the gate hot with some nose butters, iterating on the moves with what would become the night’s standout trick: a nose butter 1260. Harwood barely squeezed the later around to switch, but a stomp is a stomp. She’ll have an opportunity to expand her winnings at the Women’s Big Air event tonight.
SILVER: Tereza Korabova
Second-place finisher Tereza Korabova laid down the gauntlet, too. Her bag of tricks included a flat spin 360 and a hand drag 360.
BRONZE: Anni Karava
The always stylish Anni Karava rounded out the top three.
X Games Men’s Knuckle Huck Results
These days, keeping up to date with the freeskiing trick lexicon isn’t easy. The Men’s Knuckle Huck event made that problem worse. Check out the winning runs below.
GOLD: Alex Hall
In true Alex Hall style, he floated a styled-out bring-back for the win.
SILVER: Matej Svancer
Second-place finisher Matej Svancer brought some straightforward heat with a few huge double corks from the knuckle.
BRONZE: Juho Saastamoninen
Announcer and legendary pro skier Tom Wallisch himself wasn’t sure what to make of one of Juho Saastamoinen’s unconventional tricks. “There’s definitely not a name I know of for this,” Wallisch exclaimed as Saastamoinen cruised over the knuckle during one of his runs.
If you didn’t catch either of the Knuckle Huck events live, don’t fret. We’re looking down the barrel of two more jam-packed days of X Games action. You can check the schedule right here.
