WWE Superstar The Miz stands as one of the most accomplished and celebrated talents in the promotion’s history. A Grand Slam Champion, The Miz has captured multiple titles throughout his career and even won the Money in the Bank contract in 2010.
Since his WWE debut in 2006, The Miz has achieved incredible milestones, including headlining WrestleMania 27, where he defeated John Cena. However, The Miz’s journey to success was not without challenges.
Early in his WWE career, many doubted his longevity in the promotion. He has openly discussed facing troubles during his initial years after the promotion. Stories surfaced about The Miz being bullied by Chris Benoit and WWE Hall of Famer JBL.
One infamous incident involved Chris Benoit, accusing him of spilling fried chicken over a referee’s bags. This led to The Miz being banned from the locker room. He was forced to change in separate areas before the show.
The Miz was eventually welcomed back into the locker room after rebuilding his reputation. Fast forward to today, he is recognized as one of the most seasoned veteran stars on the roster. Recently, WWE legend Bully Ray shed light on the hardships The Miz endured during his early years.
Bully Ray on The Miz: ‘He went through hell and came out stronger’
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray discussed The Miz’s challenging early days in WWE. He mentioned some well-regarded wrestlers who, despite their positive reputations, engaged in backstage bullying.
He stated, “Miz went through hell — bad, and he came out on the other side. Let me tell you something, there are guys in this business so loved, so revered, so spoken highly of that were piece of s*** ribbers in reality, who were shoot bullies in that locker room. ‘But we love them, they had such good matches. They’re so revered, everybody loves them.’ B*******, you phony f****.”
Despite a challenging start, The Miz has become one of WWE’s most recognized stars and is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer.
