Where does Wordle come from?
Originally created by engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner, Wordle quickly spread and became an international phenomenon, with thousands of people playing it every day around the world. Alternative versions of Wordle created by fans have also appeared, including the battle royale Squabble, the music recognition game Heardle, and variations such as Dordle and Quordle that force you to guess multiple words at once.
Wordle eventually became popular enough to be acquired by the New York Times, and TikTok creators even livestreamed their plays.
What is the best first word in Wordle?
The best starting word for Wordle is one that speaks to you. However, if you want to approach it strategically, here are some ideas for choosing words that may help you find a solution faster. What happened to the Wordle archive?
The entire archive of past Wordle puzzles was initially made available for anyone to enjoy at any time, but was later removed, and the website’s creators said they created it at the request of the New York Times.
