A woman has died after a house fire broke out in Melbourne’s east on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called to the single-storey weatherboard house in Weigela Court, Forest Hill, at around 7.40pm after reports of a fire.

When firefighters arrived, they entered the home wearing a breathing apparatus and found an elderly woman.
The woman was given first aid until paramedics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not yet been identified.
One other person was treated for smoke inhalation.
It took firefighters about 17 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Victoria Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement that the fire appeared to have started from clothes that were being dried in front of a heater.
Victoria Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious but the investigation was continuing.
