Ivory Coast star Wilfried Zaha has moved from Turkish champions Galatasaray to Charlotte FC of Major League Soccer (MLS).
The experienced winger joins Crown on loan until January 2026, with an option to extend his loan until June 2026.
Zaha is on loan from Galatasaray and has spent the last six months in France as a trade to Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais, appearing in six games without scoring or assisting.
Charlotte explained that the 32-year-old will occupy a designated player slot and an international player slot on the club’s 2025 roster.
“Wilfried is a world-class talent who has proven himself at the highest level of the sport as an elite goalscorer and chance creator. His performances in the Premier League and at international level speak for themselves and we “We are confident Wilfried can make an immediate impact in Major League Soccer,” said Charlotte general manager Zoran Courneta.
“He provides valuable versatility in attacking areas of the pitch and will add a bit of magic to our front line, helping us win more games.” We are pleased to add a player of his pedigree and experience to our team and are excited to welcome him to Charlotte.”
Zaha switched his national team allegiance to his country of birth, Ivory Coast, ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Gabon.
He made his debut in a friendly against Sweden in January 2017, recording an assist, and has since won 33 caps, totaling four goals and six assists.
