WHEELER Dealers superstar Mike Brewer has revealed a little-known tip that help car buyers snag a “much better deal”.
And, the TV presenter says that the tip will make both you and your car seller very happy.
According to the star, motorists could snag a bargain by choosing to part exchange their vehicles.
The star opened up to Car Dealer Magazine about how the process works.
Mike continued: “A dealer would be happy to do a much better deal with you on your part exchange, therefore giving you a much better deal on the car you’re buying in the hope he can put your car in stock and sell it again.”
When part exchanging a car, the seller will give you a discount on the new car that you are buying.
The discount will be equal to the value of the car that you are trading in.
Not only is this better value for money, it is also more environmentally friendly.
By increasing the stock of used cars, it reduces the need for consumers to buy new models.
This can help them to save money too.
However, Mike did issue a warning to drivers looking to part exchange.
He said: “Make sure if you’ve got a good part exchange.
“If you’ve got a decent car, clean it, make sure it’s really presentable and choose the right dealer to take it to and change up your car.
“That is very important.”
Drivers are also warned that part exchanging a car might mean that they lose out on some cash.
Used car experts Cinch said that car traders are not always “happy to pay the cash difference” when part exchanging.
This means it might be better to go through the “hassle” of selling your car, as it means you can set the price.
