With President Trump hospitalized with the coronavirus and 30 days left until Election Day, the campaign is entering a period of dangerous uncertainty.
To complicate matters, as of this writing, more than 3.2 million people (including you, really) have already voted in the election. And millions more will likely vote in person or by mail on Election Day.
Democratic candidate Joe Biden responded to his hospitalization by removing negative ads. I highly doubt Trump would do the same if the situation were reversed (Trump’s campaign ran an ad in 2016 featuring Hillary Clinton suffering from pneumonia).
In short, we don’t know what will happen now. I think we should focus on the last message. The Trump administration is failing to keep America safe in this crisis. This message addresses how Biden proposes to curb the pandemic (universal mask-wearing, increasing testing and contact tracing, addressing critical disparities in the health care system) and the Trump administration. This can be strengthened through a comparison of how the country’s policies have been wrong in the past. If this kind of message is characterized as “negative”, the truth is that it doesn’t matter whether it is called positive or negative. that’s reality.

WTF moments in Congress this week
The Senate plenary session is adjourned until October 19th. The @SenJudiciary confirmation hearing for Judge Barrett’s Supreme Court nomination will be held on October 12th as scheduled by Chairman Graham. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/7ThKZPJBZG

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell canceled the Supreme Court nomination confirmation hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Oct. 19 after multiple Republican senators tested positive for the coronavirus. Suspend all business of the Senate until the day. It’s clear that Mr. McConnell wants this to happen before Election Day for one reason only. Perhaps he doesn’t have the votes to confirm her in a lame-duck Congress after the election.
