ARTICLE: wellness TRENDS IN 2025
Each year a report comes out highlighting trends in the wellness market. In 2024, the wellness market reached 1.8 trillion dollars as artificial intelligence (AI) such as Chatgbt and digital devices, began customizing wellness tools for individuals. The growth of genetic testing and artificial intelligence on individualized wellness is changing the landscape of health.
In 2025, wellness trends will lean towards more personalized, holistic and sustainable practices using in-home and self-monitoring health kits and devices. The key word is “personalized” creating customized nutrition options, lifestyle goals, sleep schedules, fitness routines, and mental health support, all designed by artificial intelligence technology.
More apps and wearable devices will be available to monitor your every move and health symptoms beyond your wildest dreams.
Based on a report from McKinsey and Company wellness-market-in-2024″>The Trends Defining the Global wellness Market, I recommend three areas in which to consider:
1) Personalized nutrition
As more AI services become available, you will be able to tailor your own nutrition meal plans, food choices, portion sizes based on your DNA, microbiome levels and health needs.
Gut health will become a primary measure of health, based on data from microbiome analysis that may uncover more information related to your immunity, mental health or chronic diseases. This is good news since our microbiome tells us a lot about who we are.
More food products will be introduced into the marketplace loaded with probiotic, prebiotics and fermented food ingredients to integrate them into your daily diet (already in the stores). The good thing is that it brings more awareness about the gut-brain connection as preventative health measures for longevity. The bad thing is using supplemental food products for improving your gut microbiome. rather than selecting natural and fresh probiotic foods such as kefir, yogurt, kombucha or fermented vegetables as a better choice.
2) Women and healthy Aging
Driven by a shift toward preventive medicine, there will be more products and services that support women’s health, healthy aging and longevity Advances in antiaging products are spearheading this surge and it will be important to notice if their ingredients are loaded with hormones, chemicals, animal products and if their impact is better or not.
In addition, new health technology (such as telemedicine and digital-health monitoring), will make healthcare more accessible for the elderly yet be cautioned that in-person visits are also important.
In 2025, expect further integration of conventional and alternative medicine approaches working together. holistic health practices such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and functional medicine treatments will be more in the mainstream as a means to enhance overall well-being. Especially for the aging population that might focus on one aspect of longevity, such as fitness or nutrition, rather than the process of aging itself. That is also great news!!!
Women’s health has always been underserved. In 2025, look for innovations in women’s health technology, focused on personalized care and targeted wellness programs that will drive more opportunities in reproductive health, hormonal balance, menstrual care, sexual health, pregnancy and perimenopause. Menopause continues to be an overlooked segment of the market with only 5 percent of FemTech start-ups that address menopausal needs.
3) Impact of Stress on Mental health
One good outcome from the pandemic was raised awareness about the importance of our psychological well-being. The impact of stress, isolation, anxiety and depression are fundamental symptoms and illnesses that can be treated by telemedicine and digital apps. Integrating mind-body practices such as mindfulness, meditation, deep breathing exercises and stress management techniques offers consumers more self-healing options.
Regular fitness workout apps and classes are also providing more opportunities for relaxation and recovery exercises with lessons in yoga, qigong and mindfulness.
The growth is digital apps and tacking devices offers new data to measure success or provide relaxation. Remember, they are only a reference or a guide. While digital devices maybe a future trend, it is imperative to stay connected to your own body rhythms, sensations and nuances than just rely on outcomes from an app exclusively. Emotionally connecting to your feelings, knowing how to achieve calm and rest will achieve more positive mental health results versus a digital device. Decide for yourself what works best for you!

WEEKLY SESSIONS: PRACTICE TOGETHER QIGONG, MEDITATION AND SOMATIC MOVEMENT
Join us for Practice Together on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Thursdays at 10 am.
Sitting in stillness can be challenging after a busy day when the mind is overactive and the body is itching to move. Applying gentle movement gets the heart pumping and body stimulated to release high energy states both physically and emotionally. Becoming aware of your breath while moving, slows down the heart rate, calms the mind and regulates the nervous system. Gentle movement also releases tension in the joints and body. From there you begin to concentrate on your breath for sitting in stillness and relaxing into the experience of meditation.
On Tuesdays, for the first 25 minutes, we practice qigong movement sitting and standing followed by a meditation for 25 minutes.
Qigong is an ancient health practice that originated in China some 3000+ years ago. It includes slow, graceful, movements synchronized with the breath to relax the mind into a calm state. It also helps to improve mental focus and prevents as well as treats ill health and disease.
On Thursdays, we practice Somatic movement to release stress from the body and improve posture, alignment and functionality (from injury, stress or overuse). You can read more about somatic movement here
