HOUSTON – Just days after tornadoes created dramatic scenes across the greater Houston area, storms once again devastated metro suburbs Saturday, leaving at least one person dead.
The National Weather Service filed reports of at least six tornadoes around the Houston area.
The first report came from Katy, where video captured debris being thrown into the air as the twister passed through Houston’s western suburbs.

Debris can be seen swirling through the air in this video of a tornado that struck near Katy, Texas on Saturday.
According to the NWS storm report, damage was reported at a mobile home park and several cars were overturned.
About an hour later, more damage was reported in the towns of Porter Heights and Splendora, north of Houston.
Drone video shows significant damage to buildings in Porter Heights. The East Montgomery Fire Department was also affected by the twister, according to the NWS storm report.
FOX 26 Houston’s Shelby Rose reported from Porter, Texas, where a tornado caused significant damage during Saturday’s severe weather outbreak.
“There are no reports of injuries to Fire Department 154 and all pending calls have been cleared,” fire department officials said in a Facebook post. “Our crews are actively canvassing the affected area to ensure the safety of everyone, especially those who were unable to call 911.”

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said in an update posted on Facebook that at least 15 people were trapped in their homes after the storm but were rescued.
Another NWS report indicates significant damage occurred near the town of Alvin, south of Houston. Several homes were destroyed, and the remains of an electrical substation could be seen along State Route 35. Dan Davis, the mayor of nearby Manvel, told It was located.
FOX 36 Houston’s Jonathan Mejia reports from Liverpool, Texas, where tornadoes caused major damage amid a major severe weather outbreak.
Further south, in Smith Point, a tornado threw a car and possibly injured people, the NWS reported.

Houston was hit by a tornado earlier in the week
This is the second time this week that the Houston area has been hit by a tornado. Several twisters wreaked havoc Thursday, including one caught on video near El Campo southwest of Houston.
