The streaming platform revealed the full cast of its new reality competition series today, with Scary Spice Mel B among the other stars appearing on the show.
The new action-packed competition show will launch on Netflix on February 5.
“I’m here to learn a big lesson and it’s from the others,” Healy said in the trailer.
The show will see a group of 12 unlikely celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators – survival expert and broadcaster Bear Grylls.
Season one, consisting of eight episodes, is hosted by English TV presenter Holly Willoughby, known for ITV’s This Morning and Dancing on Ice.
“This is the ultimate survival challenge,” Willoughby says.
“Twelve celebrities are in the Costa Rican Jungle going head to head with the legendary Bear Grylls,” she added.
Grylls (50), a British adventurer, survival expert and producer of Celebrity Bear Hunt, believes there’s an “action hero inside us all – even the celebs”.
He will put them through their paces and those who fail to impress will face the dreaded “Bear Hunt” – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they will be hunted down by Grylls himself and, if captured, face elimination from the show.
“I’ve done many wild things in my life but I’ve never hunted celebrities,” Grylls said.
Singer-songwriter Healy (43) from Thurles, Co Tipperary, joins 11 other big names in Costa Rica’s jungle, including Spice Girl Mel B (49), Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas (64), BBC’s Changing Rooms’ interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (59) and Wimbledon champion Boris Becker (57).
Other stars competing in the new survival show are Victoria’s Secret Angel Leomie Anderson (31), Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni (32), retired English rugby union player Danny Cipriani (37) and rapper and TV chef Zuhair Hassan, AKA Big Zuu (29).
English journalist and TV presenter Steph McGovern (42), fashion model and Kate Moss’s sister, Lottie Moss (27), and Inbetweeners actor and comedian Joe Thomas (41) will also compete in the series.
Healy found fame with The Saturdays, who were one of the biggest pop groups, with 13 UK top-ten singles, before the group went their separate ways a decade ago.
She released her debut solo album The Waiting Game in 2017 and a number of singles in recent years.
The Co Tipperary native is also a presenter on Absolute Radio Country – one of the UK’s biggest radio stations, which focuses on country music.
In November, she made the first public appearance with her new boyfriend, retired Irish jockey Aidan Coleman, at the Irish Post Irish Book Awards.
