Travis Kelce set the Kansas City Chiefs record for most touchdowns in a career when he scored in the fourth quarter off Patrick Mahomes in a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
Kelce surpassed fellow tight end Tony Gonzalez’s 76 points and his 77th point helped the Chiefs secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC postseason, with the Chiefs currently holding a 15-1 record.
The 35-year-old also made his 1,000th career catch in this game, making Kelce third all-time on that list behind Gonzalez and former Cowboys star Jason Witten.
The classic Patrick Mahomes-Kelce connection put the tight end’s name in the record books to set the Chiefs’ all-time record.
Mahomes scrambled to his right to avoid Pittsburgh defensive tackle Keanu Benton and lobbed the ball into the end zone, where Kelce found himself wide open behind the defensive back for an easy touchdown.
To put a little damper on that record-breaking catch, Kelce was given an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for dunking the ball over the uprights, a Gonzalez tradition.

This will continue in the future.
