Leicester City manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been speaking about his club’s activity in the transfer window.
Leicester completed the £3million signing of right-back Woyo Coulibaly from Serie A side Parma earlier this month and recalled Tom Cannon from his loan at Stoke, before selling the forward to Sheffield United.
Van Nistelrooy said his focus was on strengthening the squad and despite it being a work in progress, there was no news on any arrivals. Van Nistelrooy said:
💬 “We have put our attention into the players we have currently. New players are a bonus. We have the right-back we needed. We see in the last week what we can do. If not, then we continue.
“What is vital is this squad stays united and working hard. Focused on performing and believing, we can get out of this situation.
“If you can get one more player, is that going to change it? No. Staying unified and turning around through dedication and hard work.”
Van Nistelrooy also made clear that he was not willing to let midfielder Wilfried Ndidi go this January:
💬 “Wilfred is a key player and person, and I’m glad he is nearly there to help the team again. We know how much we’ve missed him and need him. Wilf is a key part of this team that can get us out of this situation.”
