It’s the best time of the year! It’s almost ski season! And it’s also the holidays! This year I searched through countless sites to put together a comprehensive guide for your littles who ski or snowboard. There is a little bit of gear, a little bit of fun, and some practical! All in the name of LET IT SNOW!
If your child is ages 4-12, you will surely find some inspiration for them in this Snowboard Mom Gift Kids Winter Gift Guide.
So let’s jump into it.
Ski Gear
The Burton 2L one-piece is a family favourite! Bunny slope to sled hill to makin’ tunnels in snow drifts, there’s nothing like a one-piece for keeping kids warm and happy. No gaps, no cold spots, just zip them up in the kids’ Burton 2L One Piece. It’s a teched-out, waterproof snow suit for keeping kids happy and you stress-free all snow day long. They make this one-piece is toddler and pre-teen version.
Now the key to staying warm all day is a good set of long underwear and mid layer. The base-layer from Helly Hansen is a great value and will keep your kiddos warm all day! Helly Hansen created LIFA® ACTIVE so you could have fantastic, light insulation year-round. It performs for all your adventures. Efficient and comfortable, the 2-layer fabric moves moisture away from your skin, so you stay dry and warm.
Helmets and Goggles
Now when we are talking head protection and googles, Outdoor Master is a great buy. Their Happy Valley Kids snow bundle comes in so many different colours and themes, it’s great for the slopes but also for the toboggan hill as well!
If your kids are a bit older, I would look at one of the MIPS helmets Outdoor Master offers like the Diamond MIPS Helmet. You’ll find that around the age of 7/8 your kids will start to fit in adult small helmets. Now to go with your fancy new helmet, you need some sweet goggles, and the Falcon Kids Ski goggles is where it’s at! Your kids will look ultra cool and have amazing visibility with a goggle that has an easy to swap lens.
Learning how to ski?
There is no better tool out there than Slope Ropes. I know harness are so popular, but must give Slope Ropes a try. It helps kids feel more in control vs. just being tugged around. I’ve tried both, and Slope Ropes wins! I did a full review on these as a snowboarder trying to teach my kids how to ski.
Looking for some fun activities to do with your ski and snowboard loving kids? I know that holiday break can be long, so getting them outside is KEY! This foldable snow-ski scooter is a fun thing to bring to the sledding hill during the holiday break!
Speaking about outside activities, this Toy Snowball maker is the perfect thing to keep kids busy for HOURS! (Again, all about getting them outside and active)
Looking cool on and off the slopes!
What I love the most about Burton is their extensive kids apparel lineup. T’s, hoodies, caps, the options super fun and fresh, and when there are sales on (like Black Friday) they are a great buy! There is so much to choose from that you can’t really go wrong.
My Go To for Water Bottles
Hydration – yup we know, it’s important. So when it comes to water bottles I’m a huge Yeti fant (Yeti please sponsor me!) I have so many bottles at home. It’s becoming a problem!
Yeti bottles are TESTED by my own very active kids who throw everything everywhere. The 12oz Yeti Jr Rambler has a great flip top. They are dishwasher safe and come with a backup straw. Honestly, they are great little bottles that if your kids don’t loose them, will get a solid 2-3 years out of them!
We hope you enjoyed this year’s inspiration and gift guide for kids! We are wishing you all a great holiday season, and a safe ski season!
Now get outside!
