Story of a dramatic French holiday will appeal to readers of romantic mystery
The Killing Sense is set in Paris. At its centre is Galway-born, London-based single mother Kate Wilde, who has managed to escape a controlling and abusive marriage. Her life is centered on her nearly-10-year-old daughter Hanna. When she wins a social media competition for a luxury five-day trip to Paris to attend a course in perfumery she doesn’t remember entering, she is torn.
Her sister Orna, also living in London, persuades her to go, promising to look after Hanna with her own two children. As she settles into her first-class seat in the Eurostar, Kate realises she is looking forward to her first real holiday in years, and to be able to fulfil her promise to her childhood friend Tricia, who died at the age of 16. They had dreamed of going to Paris together, and Kate is going to lock intertwined padlocks on the famous bridge across the Seine in her memory.
