It’s been a quiet transfer window for Leeds United so far, but new reports suggest that things could be about to change as the French club want to sign the player who has just arrived at Elland Road. That’s what it means.
Leeds United transfer news
The January transfer window is always a difficult month to complete transfers, and Daniel Farke has previously stated that he is not a fan of this period, so why is it that Los Blancos have not done any transfer business yet? Not surprising.
Falke eyeing big January deal, hopes to make Rutter a ‘phenomenal’ signing for Leeds
Leeds United are reportedly looking to add reinforcements across the pitch this January.
However, with more than two weeks left until the end of the season, plans could change as Leeds could be forced to enter the transfer market if they lose a player.
Leeds scouts reportedly watched Bari Mumba play for Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup win over Brentford earlier this week, suggesting the Championship leaders could have a new signing. There are rumors going around. The defender is a player Falke knows well, having worked with him at Norwich City.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, reports emerged that Leeds had made an offer of €4 million to sign Je Dávila from Portuguese side Leiria. This is reportedly the number the club are hoping to sign for the midfielder, but it appears that completing a deal would be very complicated as the player would need to obtain a work permit. Leeds aren’t the only team showing strong interest in Davila.
French club wants to sign Leeds midfielder
A departure could be on the horizon as Paris FC are interested in signing Josuha Giravoghi from Leeds, as reported by Jeunesse Futo, as Los Blancos look at potential new signings. It may be approaching.
Giravogi, who only joined Los Blancos as a free agent in October, has attracted the attention of Ligue 2 sides. Paris’ interest in the 34-year-old has been deemed “ambitious”, but the club are aiming to break into Ligue 1 by the end of this season and could see the midfielder as someone who can help them achieve that goal.
The Frenchman has signed a contract at Elland Road until the end of the season and has made 10 appearances for Los Blancos so far. Only one success came from the start and that was in the recent FA Cup game against Harrogate Town. Giravogi was brought in by manager Farke to strengthen his midfield options as Leeds were going through an injury crisis at the time and were lacking in that area of the pitch.
Giravogi has only played a small role so far, but given that there is still plenty left in the Championship, Farke hopes to hold on to the physically imposing 6-foot-2 midfielder. Maybe. Because his versatility makes him a key player. Contact the Whites team in case of injury or suspension.
