In his speech at the forum, Salehi Amiri said that the number of Tajikistan nationals visiting Iran reaches 8,000 annually, and that 8,500 Iranians also visit Tajikistan annually.
He added that the two countries have agreed to increase bilateral visits to 100,000 people per year.
The minister emphasized the role of tourism cooperation in promoting bilateral trade between Tehran and Dushanbe, adding that expanding tourism will lead to further increase in trade and creation of more jobs.
President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh also spoke at the forum, pointing out that Tehran and Dushanbe can further expand cooperation in the fields of technology and engineering, petrochemicals, and oil and gas. did. He noted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s changes to visa requirements for Tajik citizens, allowing them to travel to Iran from any point in the country, and stressed the need for Iran and Tajikistan to introduce tourist attractions. .
Mr. Hassanzadeh reaffirmed the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s commitment to providing adequate services to Tajik businessmen in order to pave the way for trade expansion between the two countries.
