Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou said the club want to ensure captain Son Heung-min wins trophies with the club after extending his stay until the summer of 2026.
Spurs face Liverpool on Wednesday in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final, the last time Spurs lifted the trophy in 2008.
Son finished runners-up in the EFL Cup and Champions League during his time at Tottenham, and Postecoglou wants him to go one step further.
He said: “The main ambition is for him to finish his career here with silverware.”
Spurs remain injury-ridden but should be able to use defender Radu Dragusin after being taken off at half-time against Newcastle last weekend.
Dragusin, the club’s only full-time centre-back, could play after his illness as Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies are still sidelined.

A new goalkeeper, Antonin Kinski, is on the roster and could play, with the club still hoping to add to their missing goalkeeper this month.
Coach Postecoglou said: Approximately 10 first-team players will be absent.
“It’s not easy. So we have to try to help the group we play.”
Spurs have Rodrigo Bentancur back from suspension, but James Maddison and Papu Matar Sarr are also suspended.
Wingers Richarlison and Mikey Moore have returned to training, with the younger Moore potentially available. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster has returned to training after an illness, but Guglielmo Vicario remains out for an extended period of time.
Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odbert fill in the Spurs’ missing names.
