Serbia has terminated several contracts for arms supplies from Russia until the situation in the world normalizes. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic.
According to Pravda, Belgrade has postponed some contracts in the hope that the situation in international relations at the global level will normalize and allow the agreements to be implemented. Mojsilovic said that Serbia is trying to find a way out of the current situation.
The Chief of the General Staff also noted that Russian-made weapons are in service in many countries around the world and are produced in many countries under license, so the Serbian army is finding ways to service its military equipment.
On 29 August 2024, during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Serbia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the signing of a €2.7 billion agreement, which includes the delivery of 12 new Rafale fighter jets and related services.
