The Oscar-nominated actress is the running for best leading actress for her role in The Outrun, which has also been longlisted in three other categories, including for Outstanding British Film, alongside Blitz, a wartime drama also starring Ronan.
Other potential nominees in the Leading Actress category include Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, as well as Demi Moore for her role in The Substance, Kate Winslet for her performance in Lee and Nicole Kidman for her part in Babygirl.
Kneecap has been longlisted in seven categories, including Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer, Film Not in the English Language, Original Screenplay, Casting and Editing.
Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal, is also under consideration for Outstanding British Film and has featured on the longlist for eight other categories.
Kneecap is in the running for a Best Film nod alongside nine other movies, including The Apprentice, which traced the career of a young US president-elect Donald Trump, Dune: Part Two, The Substance and musical hit Wicked.
The Apprentice was co-produced by Irish production company Tailored Films and is in contention for up to six awards.
The Irish film Clodagh, directed by Portia A Buckley, has been longlisted for best British Short Film alongside The Ban, a short documentary directed by Roisin Agnew.
Emily Watson has been longlisted for a supporting actress award for her performance in Small Things Like These opposite Cillian Murphy.
Murphy became the first Irish-born performer to win the film BAFTA for Best Actor last year for his role in Oppenheimer.
Watson is in the running alongside nine other actresses, including Ariana Grande for her role in Wicked, Jamie Lee Curtis for her performance in The Last Showgirl and Adriana Paz, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña for their roles in Emilia Perez.
Ten actors have made it to the Leading Actor longlist, including Daniel Craig for Queer, Jude Law for Firebrand, Sebastian Stan for his performance as Donald Trump in The Apprentice and Timothée Chalamet for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
The next round of voting to determine the BAFTA nominations closes next Friday, with the shortlist announced on Wednesday 15 January before the awards ceremony in early February.
