Former Scottish Rugby Union captain Stuart Hogg has been sentenced to a one-year community retribution order after admitting charges of domestic violence against his estranged wife.
The 32-year-old had previously been given a five-year non-harassment order and a £600 fine for breaching bail conditions.
He admitted screaming, swearing and behaving in an abusive manner towards his wife, Gillian.
Appearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court, he was given a repayment order meaning he must do supervised work in the community and a non-harassment order was again imposed.

The court heard Hogg regularly shouted and swore at his wife.
Sheriff Peter Patterson told Hogg the sentence was an alternative to custody.
The refund order will be reviewed for compliance at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on March 25, and the former Scotland international will be required to appear in court.
There was no comment as he was escorted out of court by his parents.
Lothian and Borders’ public prosecutor Lynn Barry said Mr Hogg was “culpable for subjecting his estranged wife to years of domestic violence”.
She said the Crown recognized the “devastating impact of domestic violence” and was committed to “robustly prosecuting crimes, regardless of who the perpetrators are”.
“No one should live in fear of their partner or ex-partner,” she added.
“The trauma suffered by the victims and the children who witnessed these crimes is significant.
“I urge anyone who has been the victim of a similar crime to come forward and report it.”

Hogg did not comment as he left court.
Hogg, who plays for Montpellier, last year admitted one charge relating to repeated abuse of his estranged wife.
Over a five-year period up until August last year, he committed a series of acts that caused her fear and alarm.
The court previously heard that he regularly yelled at and abused his wife not only when Hogg lived in Exeter while he played for Exeter Chiefs, but also when they lived in Hawick. The matter was investigated.
He used offensive language and criticized her for being “not funny.”
The court said this was often in response to her wishes to stay upstairs and look after the children rather than go out drinking with him and his friends.
Mr Hogg was said to have been “angry” and “controlling” during their relationship, and his behavior when drunk frightened the victim.
She reported, “I was hoping that morning would come as soon as possible so that my son would sober up and the situation would be under control.”
The charges include Mr Hogg monitoring his wife’s movements through the Find My Phone app after they separated in 2023, sometimes sending her hundreds of text messages within hours. are.
The former Glasgow Warriors full-back has amassed a century of senior caps for his country and has been on three tours with the British Lions and Irish Lions.
He remains one of Scotland’s all-time leading try scorers and was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Year’s Honors List for his contribution to rugby union.
Hogg came out of retirement last summer and signed a two-year contract with Montpellier.
