A spokesman for the Revolutionary Guards told Tasnim news agency that operations were successfully carried out in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces against armed groups backed by foreign enemies. General Ahmad Shafai, spokesman for the exercise, said the Revolutionary Guard’s recent attack neutralized four terrorists in Rusk County.
“As part of the ongoing Operation Security Martyr exercise, the Revolutionary Guards effectively engaged extremists aligned with global arrogance, leading to the deaths of four terrorists,” Shafai said. .
He added that the Revolutionary Guards seized a vehicle and a large cache of weapons and ammunition during the operation.
“The pursuit and elimination of remaining elements of this terrorist organization continues,” he said.
Shafai also acknowledged that one member of the Revolutionary Guards was martyred during the operation.
The increased operations of the Revolutionary Guards came in the wake of a series of deadly terrorist attacks against Iranian security forces in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces. On October 26, at least 10 police officers were martyred in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Goharkaw area of Taftan District.
In December 2023, the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group attacked a police station in the city of Rusk, killing 11 police officers.
