Rangers manager Philippe Clement is now “doomed” after dropping further points in the draw with Dundee, according to Graham Spiers.
Clement has been under increasing pressure all season, with Rangers trailing Celtic by 15 points in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Gers’ struggles continued, following a similar result against Hibernian the previous week and a 1-1 draw with Dundee on 9 January.
As the gap between the club and the club in the title race grows, supporters are increasingly calling for Clement to be sacked.
But sports journalist Graham Spiers, who writes for the Scottish edition of The Times, defended the Belgian manager. Spiers described him as a “talented” coach despite the challenges the Rangers currently face.
He said in “X”: “Clement is destined for Rangers. Too few people understand that he is a talented coach who is trying to rebuild a club that is chronically under-managed.

“So Clement gets fired, the next sucker comes in, and he’s stuck in the middle of a slump. At this rate, the Rangers are pretty much destined to self-destruct…”
Rangers may find it difficult to replace Philippe Clement
Opinions from soccer officials
These results mean the club have drawn three of their last five games, leaving fans increasingly frustrated. Adding to the frustration is their dismal away record, with just three wins from 11 games this season.
The players have proven themselves in the past, with the team putting in a particularly strong performance in the Old Firm derby victory.
However, inconsistency appears to be the central issue derailing their campaign, and Clement has yet to find a solution to effectively address it.
Clement is under pressure from fans at Rangers.
The 50-year-old Belgian is under contract at Ibrox until 2028, but mounting pressure and underwhelming results have cast a shadow over his tenure.
The January transfer window will provide an opportunity for reinforcements, but clubs are expected to be restricted from making loan signings due to financial constraints. Still, the manager must make the most of this opportunity to strengthen his team and prevent the gap between them and Celtic from widening further.
With the league title looking increasingly out of reach, they may need to shift their focus to securing silver medals elsewhere.
The upcoming Scottish Cup match against Fraserburgh and the close Europa League clash with Manchester United later this month are crucial opportunities for Rangers to redeem their season and deliver success to their loyal fan base.
In other news, Rangers want to make their star player’s loan deal permanent.
