Doha, January 05 (QNA) – The 34th Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) is scheduled to be held from May 8 to 17, 2025 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Culture stressed that the event is expected to have a wide international participation, including hundreds of publishers from around the world, as well as significant cultural participation from embassies of sister and friendly countries.
DIBF is the longest running book fair in the region and is known for its strong reputation supported by consistently high attendance numbers.
Participants come from all over the world, not just the Gulf and Arab countries. The event puts children and young people first by dedicating a spacious pavilion to children’s book publishers and organizing interactive activities to tap children’s talents and encourage reading. I am.
In addition, a number of cultural events will be held around the DIBF, addressing a number of topics of interest to the public.
The first edition of DIBF was launched in 1972 under the supervision of Qatar Books House and was published biennially from then until 2002, gradually becoming annual.
We were successful in attracting major international publishers, and the first edition attracted 20 publishers, achieving widespread recognition.
Now in its 33rd year, the event is the largest ever in terms of participants, with more than 515 evangelists from 42 countries and embassies from sister and friendly countries taking part in the 29,000 square meter area. The record was updated.
Since 2010, DIBF has supported the United States, Turkiye, Iran, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, France, Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman. (QNA)
