ALECSO holds forum on underwater heritage protection in the Arab world
CAIRO, December 25 (QNA) – The Department of Culture of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), in collaboration with the Egyptian National Council for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Affairs, organized a forum on “Protection of Underwater Heritage”. “The Arab World” was held today at the Alexandrina Library, with the participation of a group of experts, researchers and experts in archaeology, history and maritime studies from various Arab countries.
The three-day forum will highlight underwater heritage as part of Arab cultural identity and will include underwater ruins and underwater historical complexes.
We will also discuss the exchange of knowledge and expertise, encouraging companies and academic institutions to exchange experiences, as well as researching best practices in the field of underwater heritage exploration and conservation. Participants will discuss the challenges of developing underwater heritage conservation projects and the opportunities available to promote this type of tourism heritage.
In his speech at the opening session of the forum, Dr. Hamid Saif Al Nofali, ALECSO’s Director of Cultural Affairs, emphasized the organization’s interest in underwater heritage, which is also of interest from Arab countries, stating that the purpose of the forum is to It was pointed out that: Increase your awareness of this heritage and understand its role in the formation of various Arab civilizations.
