Qatar ends its participation in the 44th Arab Broadcasting Union General Assembly
Tunis, January 16 (QNA) – The 44th General Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) concluded on Thursday in the city of Hammamet, Tunisia.
A delegation from Qatar Media Corporation attended the meeting, headed by His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al Obaidan, Media Advisor, and including Ali Saleh Al Sada, Director of Qatar Television.
The ASBU conference opened on Wednesday with the participation of representatives from Arab League member states, regional and international professional organizations and trade unions.
The Arab League said in a statement that the meeting approved the 2024 annual report, the report and recommendations of the Executive Board, and the Fourth Arab Media Conference.
The 2025 ASBU General Assembly hosted panel discussions on several themes, including the role of the media in combating fake news and misinformation, radio and television in the digital age, and multiplatform broadcasting.
Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khatabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of Media and Communication at the Arab League, in his speech during the session, emphasized the importance and importance of the Arab Federation of Broadcasting in strengthening and enriching the collaboration of Arab media.
