Qatar Charity opens integrated multi-service center in Mali
Doha, January 15 (QNA) – Qatar Charity (QC) has opened a multi-service center in the Wilsi Bougou area of Mali’s Qulikoro region. The center consists of a school, clinic, mosque, and solar-powered well, serving 1,500 beneficiaries.
The 487 square meter center promotes positive change by improving quality of life, promoting sustainable development and providing education and employment opportunities. It also focuses on health promotion and women’s economic empowerment.
Supporting women’s economic empowerment, the center offers space to manufacture and sell products such as soaps, oils and cosmetics, alongside sewing and fabric dyeing workshops for women. This initiative will benefit more than 100 women, improving their living conditions and ensuring a stable income for their families.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mali’s Minister of Families, Motherhood, Children and Solidarity Keita Geneve Sango said the project is more than just a building. It is a platform for women and girls to develop skills and earn a dignified livelihood, and represents the strong cooperation between Mali and Qatar. She thanked the people of Qatar and Qatar Philanthropy for their continued support to development projects in Mali.
On behalf of the women beneficiaries, Geneva Samuki said: “This center has been a dream for all of us. We would like to thank Qatar Charities for making it a reality and use this opportunity to build a better future for our families. I promise to use it for this purpose.” (QNA)
