7 contestants advance to Hadad Al Tahadi finals at Marmi 2025
Doha, January 09 (QNA) – UAE’s Al Rajhi team on Thursday participated in the Haddad Al Rajhi Festival at the Qatar International Falconry Festival (Marmi 2025) held under the patronage of Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani. Reached the finals of the Tahadi Challenge.
Mutib Mubarak Al Qahtani, Chairman of Marmi 2025, awarded the winning team a qualification shield and a prize of QR100,000.
Al Rajhi became the seventh finalist in the challenge between a peregrine falcon and a homing pigeon.
Organized by the Qatar Al Ghannas Association and supported by the Social and Sports Activities Fund (DAAM), the event will be held from January 1st to February 1st at Sabhat Marmi, Sea Line. Over 2,000 falconers compete in various championships.
Shawi Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Hadad Al Tahadi Committee, praised the heated battle between carrier pigeons and peregrine falcons.
Meanwhile, groups 21 to 25 of the Al Taraa Challenge, in which peregrine falcons hunt Houbara bustards, have been postponed due to poor visibility.
Al Tallah Committee Chairman Mohamed Mubarak Al Ali said the postponed competitions would resume on Sunday, with groups 26 to 30 to be held on Saturday. (QNA)
