Marmi 2025: Al Talaa Falconers advance to finals, Team Gharbia grabs victory (1)
Doha, January 07 (QNA) – The Hadad Al Tahadi Championship and Al Talaa Championship competitions continued on Tuesday as part of the 16th Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2025).
The festival is held under the patronage of Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani and is organized by the Qatar Al-Gana Association with support from the Social and Sports Contribution Fund (DAAM).
Tuesday’s contest was a spectacular one, with Team Gharbia emerging victorious in the 6th group of the Haddad Al-Tahadi competition, with Marmi Festival President Miteb Mubarak Al Qahtani ultimately crowned the winner. The event culminated with a prize of 100,000 rupees awarded to those who qualified for the finals. With the qualification trophy for the finals, Hadad Al Tahdi’s total number of qualified players now stands at six.
Shawi Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Hadad Al Tahadi Committee, said that the competition in the sixth group was excellent and powerful, attracting a large number of spectators as they powerfully evaded pigeons chased by peregrine falcons.
Al Kaabi praised the punctual efforts of the falconers, in which 27 Qatari and foreign falconers participated, of which 31 recorded outstanding presence. He emphasized that the competition for Group 7 is scheduled for Wednesday.
In the morning session, there was a fierce battle between groups from 11:00 to 15:00, with Hamad Ghaleb Al Dosari’s pigeon taking off in just 1 minute 5 seconds, and Barzan’s team’s falcon taking flight in 1 minute 34 seconds. He took off and qualified.
Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Ali, Chairman of the Al Talaa Championship, announced the postponement of the Group 14 and 15 contests and the rescheduling of the Group 11 contest. This decision was made due to the delay in the start of the event. and poor visibility due to dense fog. (QNA)
