Prince William has travelled to Monaco to watch his beloved Aston Villa in their latest fixture just hours after stepping out in London for a royal engagement.
The Prince of Wales is in attendance to watch Aston Villa playing their penultimate league phase game in the UEFA Champions League in Monaco, where the Birmingham-based side lost 1-0 to the French side.
It is the first time Prince William has publicly left the UK this year.
Villa, which is the Prince of Wales’s favourite team, have participated in the top tier European competition this season for the first time since 1983.

It comes hours after Prince William stepped out in London to visit Centrepoint’s Ealing service.
The visit marked a significant milestone as he celebrated 20 years as Patron of the homeless charity.
As a school boy, William decided to support Aston Villa, a club that, at the time, were fighting for a place in the European Cup.
Prince William looked frustrated as his time were losing to AS Monaco 1-0 at halftime.
The prince attended for Villa’s historic return to the European competition at the start of the season where they beat Bayern Munich at Villa Park 1-0.
The Prince of Wales noted he “couldn’t quite believe” his boyhood side had won the game, admitting that he had lost his voice cheering on the Birmingham-based club.
Prince Albert II of Monaco was also spotted supporting his local side with the club’s president and owner Dmitry Rybolovlev.
William is also regularly seen taking in England games at Wembley and watching his team from the VIP box at Villa Park.

Last week, the Prince of Wales, 42, enjoyed a Bulmers cider at the New Street station pub before buying a round of beers for eight football fans.
The Villa fan impressed the supporters with his “vast knowledge” of the game, according to a source.
The source also revealed that the Prince of Wales uses a different name to post his thoughts anomalously on Aston Villa Football Club forums.
Steve Jones, a Villa fan for 35 years, told the Athletic: “He goes under different names and he posts on there because that’s how he gets the feeling of what’s going on and what’s the opinion.”
