Utah has been the epicenter of several storms recently, and what better way to celebrate a brand-new lift than with several feet of snow? Powder Mountain debuted its new Lightning Ridge lift after the resort saw nearly three feet of snow. Opening for the 2024/25 season, the lift will service advanced and expert-only terrain. This marks Powder Mountain’s first new lift in a decade.
The lift creates a new connection between the Sundown base area and the rest of the resort. Sitting below James Peak, which taps out at a summit elevation of 9,422 feet, the Lightning Ridge lift is a significant addition for this side of the mountain and opens up bountiful opportunities for more advanced riders.
This Skytrac fixed-grip quad is a one of three new public lifts that Pow Mow has debuted this season. The Timberline and Paradise lifts were replaced this summer and offer a new, state-of-the-art experience for guests. CEO Reed Hastings has made it a priority to ensure the mountain lives up to its reputation of being a top-tier resort where skiers can “escape the crowds “Escape the Masses” as their motto says, and these new chairs will help with that goal.
