Police detained a Polish central bank official on December 2 and forced him to appear before parliament that morning in an investigation into the use of Pegasus spyware under the previous Law and Justice (PiS) government.
Piotr Pogonowski was head of Poland’s Internal Security Agency from 2015, before joining the National Bank of Poland (NBP) as a member of the management board in 2020, under a request from governor Adam Glapiński, a PiS ally.
