Paris Hilton is offering a helping hand to families, like hers, who lost their homes to the Los Angeles fires. On Friday, the Infinite Icon singer pledged $100,000 to help families affected by the disastrous fires via the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), promising to match up to $100,000 in donations.
“I’m heartbroken to see everyone whose lives have been uprooted by these devastating fires,” said Hilton, donating on behalf of her 11:11 Media Impact non-profit. “Los Angeles is my home, and I’m committed to helping rebuild our community.”
“I’m proud to partner with LA-based organization CORE to provide support to families and uplift those in need during this difficult time,” she added in a press release. CORE, the charity founded by Ann Lee and Sean Penn, is set to give out cash assistance to those with pressing needs following the wildfires.
Hilton’s fund will specifically help support “displaced families with young children.” According to Hilton, the fund will provide cash assistance, offer short-term housing for families with little ones, deliver essentials to evacuation centers, and support local animal shelters. Families in need of help may email impact@1111media.co.
“My heart is with everyone impacted by the devastating fires here in LA,” she wrote on Instagram. “While I’ve lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost so much more—their homes, cherished keepsakes, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability.”
Hilton thanked Amy Marks Dornbusch, who helped her raise an additional $100,000 among female funders, so they can start the relief pot with $200,000. “Let’s come together for LA,” she wrote. “Every dollar makes a difference, and we’ll make sure the support reaches those who need it most.”
The artist revealed that she lost her Malibu home earlier this week, saying she “couldn’t process” the news after seeing the place where her home was burned to ashes. “This house wasn’t just a place to live— It was where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family,” she wrote. “It was where Phoenix’s little hands made art that I’ll cherish forever, where love and life filled every corner… it’s devastating beyond words.”
More than 10,000 structures have burned down in multiple fires around the Los Angeles area, including in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena. At least 10 people have been killed, with more than 130,000 people displaced by the blazes. Numerous celebrities have also lost their homes, including Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, Jhené Aiko, and James Woods.
