Replying to media questions, Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted the long-standing positive relationship between Pakistan and the US dating back to 1954. She criticized the allegations as unhelpful and lacking evidence, and emphasized Pakistan’s goodwill toward the United States and Pakistan as a nation. The website reported.
“Pakistan has made great sacrifices for this relationship and continues to endure the consequences of U.S. policy in the region,” Baloch said, adding that Pakistan has been unfairly compared to countries with which the U.S. has hostile relations. He said it was a shame that he was there.
He pointed to a clear bias in focusing on Pakistan’s strategic capabilities while ignoring its eastern neighbourhood’s more advanced missile programs. She warned that such accusations risked undermining regional stability.
Pakistan reiterated that its strategic capabilities are designed to protect its sovereignty and ensure peace and stability in South Asia. “Our nation’s credible minimum deterrent force is essential in the face of evolving threats, and we cannot compromise on this right,” Baloch asserted.
Since 2012, the Pakistani government has made consistent efforts to address U.S. concerns, he noted, noting that the country’s strategic plans are exclusively defensive, aimed at countering existential threats from neighboring countries. He emphasized that the aim is to “It should not be perceived as a threat to other countries,” she concluded.
