With the news that Laval Rocket AHL All-Star Joshua Roy will miss four-to-six weeks, there needed to be someone to replace him, and that came from within the team as Owen Beck will be an AHL All-Star for the first time.

Beck is in his first professional season and repeats the feat that teammate and fellow All-Star Logan Mailloux did last year, which was to make the team in his first year. This season, he has nine goals and 16 assists (25 points) in 38 games. That puts him third in team scoring. He also played two games in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens.
Jared Davidson and Alex Barré-Boulet were surely also considered but the nod went to Beck.
The Canadiens drafted Beck in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
