WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will hold an Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) hearing on Appraisal Bias on February 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Headquarters 400 Street. 7th Street SW, Washington DC
Michael J. Hsu, Acting Commissioner of the Comptroller of the Currency, will deliver opening remarks. The Subcommittee’s panel is comprised of representatives from each of the five regulatory agencies of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Witnesses include representatives of appraisal foundations, state appraiser licensing and regulatory agencies, and active appraisers.
This is the fourth in a series of ASC hearings on rating bias and is open to the public. In-person and virtual attendees must register to attend the hearing by February 9th. Registration for in-person attendance may end early if maximum capacity is reached.
The ASC oversees the real estate valuation regulatory framework for federally related transactions. The ASC is a subcommittee of FFIEC that provides federal oversight of state appraiser and appraisal management company regulatory programs and an oversight framework for appraisal foundations.
