WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today held a Financial Inclusion Symposium at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the second anniversary of Project REACh.
OCC’s Project REACh (Roundtable for Economic Access and Transformation) brings together leaders from the banking industry, national civil rights organizations, business, and technology to ensure underserved and minority communities have access to full, equal, and Identify and reduce specific barriers to living fairly. The symposium, attended by more than 200 people, began with a fireside chat with Acting Comptroller Sue and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Sandra Thompson about the impact of affordable homeownership on economically disadvantaged communities. The event also featured a panel discussion with Project REACh members to expand access to credit and capital for small businesses, provide affordable homeownership opportunities for minorities, and increase creditworthiness for under-qualified populations.
