WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today announced the promotion of Robert Burns and Kevin Greenfield to the positions of Deputy Comptroller of the Bureau of Large Bank Supervision (LBS).
“Robert and Kevin each have had distinguished careers at the OCC, and are recognized within the agency for their diverse experience, deep expertise, and strong leadership,” said Greg Coleman, Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision. said. “Their extensive industry background and knowledge will strengthen OCC’s leadership in our large banking portfolio and further advance OCC’s strategic objectives.”
Mr. Burns has been a national bank examiner for more than 30 years. He has overseen banks of all sizes operating domestically and internationally, and currently serves as the Examiner in Charge for Bank of America. Mr. Burns’ experience includes leading highly complex commercial credit investigations, as well as assessing the quality of bank risk management programs, including those related to information technology, cybersecurity, operational and compliance risks. . Mr. Burns has held key leadership positions in OCC peer review workgroups and interagency initiatives, and is an advocate for leadership development within examiner teams. He earned a Master of Science in Business Administration and Management from William Carey University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jackson State University.
Mr. Greenfield has served as the National Bank Examiner for more than 25 years and has served as Acting Deputy Comptroller in the Division of Major Bank Supervision since August 2024. He returns to LBS after serving as Director of Bank Information Technology Policy for five years and then as Deputy Auditor for five years. About operational risk policy. In his most recent role, Mr. Greenfield oversaw the development of policies and review procedures addressing operational risk, banking information technology, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure resiliency, payment systems, and corporate and risk governance. He has represented the OCC on several interagency groups focused on coordination and cooperation on operational and technology risks impacting the financial sector. Mr. Greenfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton.
