Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, inaugurated the training center this morning.
Isfahan was chosen as the location for the international training center considering that the Central Province is home to a nuclear research institute, three research reactors, and several nuclear industry companies.
The newly established center is planned to consolidate training programs in nuclear science in Iran and provide education at an international level.
University students who win the scholarship will have the opportunity to receive advanced training in accordance with the latest international standards before starting a career in the nuclear industry.
The Iran Center also collaborates with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide specialized training to students, graduates, and nuclear industry professionals.
The second and third phases of the training center, which will include laboratories, a full-scale simulator of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and dormitories, are expected to be operational by the end of next year.
Eslami said in comments in May that the international center will serve as a “base of influence” for training personnel to serve the purpose of developing human resources in the nuclear industry.
