Nonpoint canceled a January 12 performance at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Kentucky, after drummer Rob Rivera’s heart rate suddenly increased to dangerous levels. Rivera was rushed to a local hospital, and Nonpoint was unable to perform their final song. Rivera has now informed fans that things are improving and denies that drug abuse was involved (as has been accused).
“What’s going on? Rob is sitting here on a riser in Hangar 1819 in Greensboro, North Carolina,” Rivera wrote. “I have a game tonight so I’m leaving now. To those who are saying this is because of drugs, if you If anyone knows, I don’t do any drugs and I don’t drink.
“I used to drink a little bit. I’ve never been an alcoholic, I’ve never been a drug addict. To those who say that, I can easily get mad at you. But I’m not going to lower myself to your level. Anyway, to those who contacted me, I love you tonight, Greensboro, Florida, and I’ll see you soon.”
