MEGHAN Markle’s authenticity is a major issue and copying the Kardashians won’t help her, claimed an expert.
BBC Royal Broadcaster Huw Thomas and and Bronte Coy spoke about the Duchess’ new Netflix docuseries on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show.
It comes as the streaming giant rolled out the trailer for With Love, Meghan earlier this month.
Bronte told The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson: “For once it does feel like a new chapter.
“The idea that after all these years and everything that’s happened, to come back to that Hollywood, influencer, Hollywood entertainment reality TV space is ironic.”
The expert touched on Meghan’s ventures as an actress a decade ago, before meeting Prince Harry.
She highlighted the mum-of-two’s old blog The Tig, which was shut down after being introduced into the Royal Family.
Bronte suggested Meghan had “dreamed” of becoming a household lifestyle name such as Gwyneth Paltrow.
But, the Royal Exclusive guest did say the trailer for With Love, Meghan “disappointed” her.
She continued: “The fact it’s not filmed in their house disappointed me because I think one of their major issues reputationally, Harry and Meghan, particularly Meghan, is authenticity.
“I mean the Kardashians film in different houses so that’s common place but it’s that idea of authenticity.
“I think that’s an unfortunate one.”
It comes as the new show – With Love, Meghan – will be airing in just five days on January 15 and feature a host of her celebrity pals.
While Prince Harry made an appearance in the trailer, there are 11 other big names set to star alongside the Duchess.
The star-studded, eight-part series will see Meghan sharing her cooking and lifestyle tips.
The docuseries will also include the mum-of-two chatting with her famous friends as she whips up tasty treats.
Meghan’s make-up artist and long-time friend Daniel Martin – who was behind her flawless wedding day look – will star in the show.
The former actress’ Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, who played Dana “Scottie” Scott, is also set to appear alongside her.
Another actress featuring in the kitchen is The Office’s Mindy Kaling, who also appeared on Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes in 2022.
The wife of Harry’s long-term polo player pal Nacho Figueras will also learn some tips on the show.
Another person Meghan roped in includes Kelly McKee Zajfen, who is one of the co-founders of the Alliance of Moms, an organisation that helps pregnant and parenting teens in the foster care system.
Meghan has also welcomed fashion designer Tracy Robbins, wife of Paramount Global CEO Brian Robbins, on the show.
And, literary agent Jennifer Rudolph is on the list for her cooking and lifestyle series.
Fans can also look out for Montecito resident Vicky Tsai, who is the co-founder of skincare company Tatcha.
Other guest stars include chef and restaurateur, Alice Waters, Ramon Velazquez, and Korean-American chef Roy Choi.
There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.
The nearly two minute trailer featured a montage of various clips and Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.
She was also filmed browsing through florists hand selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.
The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.
Meghan Markle rocks £210,000 worth of jewellery in new cooking TV show
MEGHAN Markle is back with a bang – not only launching a new Instagram page but also releasing the trailer for her new Netflix cooking show.
The Duchess of Sussex looked glamorous in clips from the new eight-part series – and dazzled wearing a staggering £210,000 worth of jewellery.
Aside from her £140,000 diamond engagement ring, Meghan rocked £70,000 worth of glitzy pieces.
First up was her Cartier Love Bangle stack, which is said to be a gift from Prince Harry worth around £7,050.
Next, we can see two tennis bracelets worth £2,500 and £4,500 each, followed by a Lorraine Schwartz evil eye diamond bracelet, which retails for £15,000.
One of the poignant items Meghan can be seen wearing is her £21,400 Cartier Tank Francaise watch that once belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.
If this wasn’t enough, she also has a Cartier Juste un Clou necklace, which comes with a hefty £15,500 price tag.
She also can be seen wearing a £3,900 emerald choker and £1,600 zodiac ring.
One of the more affordable items Meghan is wearing is a pair of £200 knot earrings, and a jewellery set by Logan Hollowell.
In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.
“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.
“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.
“This is about connecting with friends.. I love that we’re doing this together for the first time. Making new friends.. and just learning.
“We’re not in the pursuit of perfection. We’re in the pursuit of joy. I have to get it totally wrong, to get it totally right.”
This comes after some fans accused Meghan of copying recipes and Princess Kate’s beekeeping in the show.
Many online believed that the style of the Netflix release was far too similar to others in what has been branded a “copycat” move.
And the Duchess’ beekeeping was noted for also being one of Princess Kate’s favourite hobbies.
The Princess of Wales was snapped tending to her own beehive at Anmer Hall in Norfolk in May 2023 to mark World Bee Day, and is known for producing her own honey.
Some fans even drew comparisons between Meghan’s show and Emma’s Kitchen, a YouTube series hosted by Celebrity MasterChef star Emma Weymouth, Marchioness of Bath.
The series is reportedly being made to complement her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
However, there has been little update on it, nor is there a release date in sight.
In a setback in September last year, officials pointed out the wording of her brand is a common nickname for Santa Barbara in California.
Further hitches included Meg and her team filling in the official forms incorrectly, and failing to send enough cash.
