San Siro derby on Sunday

Bragging rights are up for grabs on Sunday when AC Milan face Inter Milan in Serie A. The two Milan giants will face off at the iconic San Siro but the two clubs have experienced contrasting fortunes in the Italian top-flight this season. Inter are firmly involved in the title race as they aim to retain their title but they face strong competition from Napoli with Atalanta also in the mix.
AC Milan, however, are currently situated outside of the european places in 34th. AC Milan trail their city rivals by 16 points in the league but they did beat Inter to Super Cup as they equalled their record of eight wins in the competition. Inter are favourites but AC have won the last two Milan derbies but which players would make a combined XI based on market value? Let’s find out.
AC Milan and Inter Milan combined XI
Seven Inter and four AC Milan players make up the combined most valuable XI based on market value. The side’s combined market value would stand at €625 million with Inter captain Lautaro Martínez the most valuable player at €100m. Martinez would form a front three with AC Milan duo Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic.
As the graphic above illustrates, AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders is joined in a midfield trio by Nicolò Barella and Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The back four is composed of just Inter Milan players with Alessandro Bastoni the most valuable defender at €75m. AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan takes the spot in nets with a market value of €35m.
