The NBA announced that with their victory on Sunday, the Oklahoma City Thunder clinched some honors for their coaching staff. Head coach Mark Daigneault will coach one of the four All-Star Teams. A Thunder assistant coach will also coach one of the four teams.
The NBA is trying a new All-Star Game format this year. The two 12-player rosters for each of the Eastern and Western Conference will be divided into three rosters of eight players each. The fourth team will be comprised of whichever team is victorious during the Rising Stars Challenge.
The other two teams will be coached by the head coach and an assistant coach from the Eastern Conference team with the top record.
The teams will play a mini tournament in place of the traditional All-Star Game.
