Manchester United are in talks to offer Christopher Wivell a permanent position at the club.
INEOS have received a lot of criticism recently, but one thing they’ve done well is hire Omar Berada from Manchester City as CEO and Jason Wilcox as technical director, changing United’s football structure. It’s been revamped.
It was a huge shock when Dan Ashworth was sacked from his role as sporting director after just a few months, and there was much speculation as to who would be next in the role.
However, United appear to be taking a different direction as the Daily Mail report that they are in talks to make Vibel’s temporary role permanent.
He joined as director of recruitment in the summer and is reported to have impressed Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS in the role.
It had been suggested that he might be working towards a contract extension, and it looks like that has now become a reality.
The Mail reports that they understand that Vivell is “currently in talks to take up a permanent position at United”. There is also optimism that an agreement can be reached with Vibel in the coming weeks. ”
The former Chelsea employee has a strong reputation in the game and is credited with unearthing an impressive roster of players including Erling Haaland, Benjamin Sesco, Dayot Upamecano and Karim Adeyemi.
It has also been reported that United have decided not to hire a new person to replace Ashworth, saying: “Instead, Wilcox will retain the title of technical director but will take on increased authority and He will work closely with Berrada as a central figure.” daily work. ”
“Sir Dave Brailsford will act as owner representative and form a three-man football coaching team.”
Chief operating officer Colette Roche will be given extra responsibility at the Carrington training center, allowing Wilcox to focus on performance issues rather than logistics.
Additionally, it was thought that Michael Appleton would be offered a role as loan manager, but that was not the case and the company is currently exploring other management opportunities.
