He said: “I’m really happy to be joining Manchester City, a team I’ve enjoyed watching for a long time.
“This team has some of the best players in the world and I can’t wait to meet them and play with them.
“And of course Josep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches of all time and I’m very excited to learn from him and further improve my game.
“Joining a great club like Manchester City is a very proud moment for me and my family and I am fully prepared for this challenge.”
Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, added:
“For such a young defender, Abdukhodir is already very intelligent, strong, aggressive and very fast.”
