Man United forward Marcus Rashford faces more bad news after his investment company has been served with a redundancy notice, according to Kieran Maguire.
The 27-year-old made his return to the Manchester United squad for the first time in four games after Ruben Amorim’s side lost 2-0 to Newcastle United on Monday (December 30).
Last month, Rashford admitted in an interview that he was looking for a “new challenge” (via X’s Henry Winter). His comments followed his controversial absence from the Manchester derby, which United won 2-1 in dramatic fashion.
While Rashford is dealing with challenges on the pitch, he is also facing potential challenges off the pitch as well.
Mr Maguire, a finance expert specializing in football accounting at the University of Liverpool, said his investment firm had received a strike notice from Companies House. Mr Maguire suggested in X that this could be due to “delays in filing documentation”.
A strike notice is a formal notice of intent to strike a registered, potentially inactive company.

Manchester United need to find a solution for Marcus Rashford in January
Opinions from soccer officials
The academy graduate has struggled this season, scoring just seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.
However, with other wingers stepping up, such as Amad Diallo, the youngster could rise to the occasion and be rewarded for his contribution at a time when others are underperforming.
The club are said to be considering selling Rashford, with Amorim in dire need of funds to help rebuild his team.

United have lost their last four games in all competitions, including being eliminated in the Carabao Cup.
To make matters worse, this poor form has seen them slump to 14th place. Instead of checking the table, fans are now forced to worry about the teams below them who are closer to the relegation zone than Champions League spots.
Despite Rashford’s decline in popularity, there is little real interest in a potential move, which could complicate Amorim’s plans for reinforcements in the January window.
Clubs need an urgent solution as they continue to feel pressured by profit and sustainability rules.
Adding to Rashford’s woes is the possibility of trouble off the pitch, which will be of no use to him or the club unless the necessary documentation is provided now.
In other news, Man United fans are unimpressed with Amorim’s treatment of the player.
