Princess Charlotte made a festive fashion statement during the Royal Family’s Christmas Day appearance at Sandringham, wearing a £1,500 necklace reportedly designed by Prince Harry’s former girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
The nine-year-old princess joined her parents and brothers for the traditional Christmas Day walk, sporting a tartan coat that coordinated with her mother’s scarf.
The dainty necklace, which has since sold out, caught the attention of royal watchers and jewellery experts alike.
Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77 Diamonds in Mayfair, exclusively told GB News that the piece was “quite an exciting present for any young girl – royal or not.”

The young princess’s choice of jewellery has sparked particular interest given its connection to her uncle Harry’s former partner.
“This is most likely a present from the family, and very possibly from her parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales,” Kormind told GB News.
The diamond expert suggested the necklace could have been a new Christmas gift that Charlotte was eager to showcase.
“It has been a difficult year for the family, and a lovely piece of jewellery definitely brings good cheer!” he added.
The timing of Charlotte’s debut of the piece during the festive celebrations at Sandringham supports this theory.
The choice of jewellery also reflects a thoughtful selection by her parents, with Kormind noting that design would have been the primary consideration for the future King and Queen of England rather than investment potential.
Despite Prince Harry and Davy’s split in 2011, their relationship appears to have remained cordial, with Davy attending the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018.
“As Chelsy Davy was in attendance at the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding, it seems Chelsy and Harry’s separation was amicable,” noted Kormind.

The connection between Davy and the Royal Family extends beyond her previous relationship with Prince Harry.
Princess Kate, now 43, shared a close friendship with Davy during the early 2000s.
The pair were frequently photographed together at polo matches where Princes William and Harry were competing.
Harry has since married Meghan Markle, with whom he now lives in the United States with their two children.
Kormind emphasised that when selecting jewellery as a gift, the focus should be on “the style of the receiver, the design of the piece and the quality of gemstones first, over a specific brand.”
The expert suggested Kate’s choice may have been influenced by the opportunity to support her friend’s business venture.
“I’m sure, Kate, like many mothers, searched for the perfect present for Charlotte and it must have been a welcome consideration to support her friend’s business in the process too,” he said.
Kormind also highlighted the investment potential of such pieces, particularly for young collectors.
“With the prices of coloured gemstones such as rubies on the rise, it is definitely the right way to go when it comes to investment pieces,” he noted.
A dainty gemstone necklace represents an ideal starting point for building a jewellery collection, according to the expert.
