King Charles has released a new portrait to celebrate the occasion.
He was pictured in Balmoral Castle’s Library wearing a tartan kilt, the traditional attire of Scotland.
The Palace credited the Prince and Princess of Wales’s private photographer, Millie Pilkington, for the portrait that was taken in autumn last year.
The Dorset photographer is described as “one of the UK’s most respected and accomplished portrait photographers” on her website.

King Charles has previously said that Scotland has a “uniquely special place” in his family’s heart.
He also said that he is moved by Scotland’s diversity, strength of character, and natural beauty.
Balmoral Castle in Scotland was where the late Queen chose to spend her final days leading up to her death in 2022, aged 96.
The late Queen said that Scotland “occupies such a special place in my own and my family’s affections”.
