The Sherlock Holmes movies, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic detective and Jude Law as Dr. John Watson, have received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences over the two films. I have received it. The first film, Sherlock Holmes (2009), was praised for its action-packed sequences, witty dialogue, and dynamic chemistry between Downey Jr. and Law. However, some purists felt that the film sometimes strayed too far from the original story written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011), continued to show off the duo’s chemistry on screen, but received sporadic criticism for its complex plot and overreliance on action. Despite mixed reviews, both films were commercially successful, grossing over $500 million worldwide and sparking buzz for other films. So, after all these years, is there still a chance that Sherlock Holmes 3 will happen?

Jude Law updates on possible third entry
In a recent interview with The Playlist, Law discussed what the movie means, saying, “Well, yeah, that’s interesting (there was once a plan for a time travel story). “It has evolved,” he told the site. It’s probably been close to 10 years, but there’s a great will between all of us to get it done and we’re going to find the time and find the right team. He later said, “Hopefully, I’m still going to keep going. I think there’s a new iteration of the script that I haven’t read yet. And I’m like, ‘How much is it going to cost?’ I wonder if I can put it in there?” Did you make it? ‘ (Laughs) But to be honest, because of our friendship and my experience working with Robert, he’s such a wonderful, fun, motivating, inspirational quality that he brings to film. He brought it to the scene. That’s part of it. ”
Although the release date for the third film has not been revealed, fans remain hopeful that the project will come to fruition. And it’s clear there’s a desire to make this happen, as Law revealed that another version of the script is in development.
