Superstar Rajinikanth is keeping fans excited with his upcoming projects. He’s currently working on Coolie, which is set to release in 2025. But there’s more buzz around Jailer 2 (the sequel to his 2023 hit Jailer) directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Latest reports claim that the film is set to go on floors in early 2025.
Jailer 2 To Begin Filming From March Next Year?
According to industry sources, the much-anticipated sequel will begin shooting in March 2025.
The news of Jailer 2 has sparked a lot of speculation. It is Rajinikanth’s second collaboration with Nelson, following the success of the first film. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement, which might come in February 2025, just like the original film was announced in the same month.
The sequel will possibly begin two years after the first film’s release and three years after it started production.
About Jailer
Jailer featured Rajinikanth as a retired police officer whose life is turned upside down when his son is kidnapped. The film takes viewers on a revenge-filled journey that eventually turns into a heist thriller while exploring his earlier days as a cop.
Alongside Rajinikanth, Jailer had a strong cast, including Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and more. It also featured cameos from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, adding extra excitement to the film.
Rajinikanth’s Work Front
Rajinikanth has been busy since his last role in Vettaiyan in 2024, where he played an IPS officer in a tough moral situation.
He’s also currently shooting for Coolie, a film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, set to release in 2025. The film will feature Rajinikanth in another exciting role, with Aamir Khan making a cameo appearance.
