A few hours ago, some media reported that the Iraqi government had disbanded the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), known as Hashd al-Shaabi.
However, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, the representative of Iran’s Iraqi Nujaba Movement Secretary-General, denied such reports in an interview with Mehr. A Nujaba representative denied the report published by the Ba’ath Party media, stressing that “PMF has never been disbanded and has no intention of disbanding in the future.”
“The news of the official announcement of the dissolution of the PMF was published by the Baath Party press, but the claims are not true. Such press cannot be trusted and is in the service of the American project. Sharqiyah, Arabiya , Jazeera and Rasheed are also such media outlets, the Nujaba emissary said.
“Prime Minister Al-Sudani said that the PMF is a challenge to key power elements in Iraq and we must redouble our efforts to maintain and strengthen them,” Mousavi said.
In recent days, the US has been trying to spread fake news about the disbandment of the PMF in Iraq, which has provoked opposition and rejection by Iraqi representatives and officials who consider the PMF to be the guarantor of maintaining the country’s security. .
